a parting

It's amazing how you can make me
miss you terribly one moment,
and then to detest you so much
to the point of a break-up.

All I know is
you barely need to do anything.
It's just my own issues.
My own demons.
My own vulnerability.

My life is my own.
Likewise is yours.
So go forth,
do what you deem fit.

Despite the yearning within me,
I will swallow it down.
The road will be lonely
but without disappointment.

No one can have everything.
I choose to give up you
just for the sake
of stability.
